50. Qaaf

In the name of God, the All Gracious, the All Merciful

 

 

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

                                     ق وَالْقُرْآنِ الْمَجِيدِ

Qaf. And the Glorious Quran.

  بَلْ عَجِبُوا أَنْ جَاءَهُمْ مُنْذِرٌ مِنْهُمْ فَقَالَ الْكَفِرُونَ هَذَا شَيْءٌ عَجِيبٌ

But, they were surprised that a deliverer of warning had come to them from amongst themselves. Consequently, the disbelievers said, this is a strange thing-

                   أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا ذَلِكَ رَجْعٌ بَعِيدٌ

-that when we die and become dust, that is really far out.

     قَدْ عَلِمْنَا مَا تَنْقُصُ الأرْضُ مِنْهُمْ وَعِنْدَنَا كِتَبٌ حَفِيظٌ

We are fully aware that the territory shrinks around them for We keep a preserved record at Our sight.

       بَلْ كَذَّبُوا بِالْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ فَهُمْ فِي أَمْرٍ مَرِيجٍ

However, they continued to deny the truth when it came to them; consequently, they became completely confused regarding matters.

  أَفَلَمْ يَنْظُرُوا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَوْقَهُمْ كَيْفَ بَنَيْنَاهَا وَزَيَّنَّاهَا وَمَا لَهَا مِنْ فُرُوجٍ

Do they not look at the sky above them; how We constructed it and adorned it, and that there are no flaws in it?

  وَالأرْضَ مَدَدْنَاهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ وَأَنْبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِنْ كُلِّ زَوْجٍ بَهِيجٍ

And as for the land, We have spread it out, and placed therein stabilizers, and grew therein every kind of beautiful thing.

                       تَبْصِرَةً وَذِكْرَى لِكُلِّ عَبْدٍ مُنِيبٍ

An observation and reminder for every penitent servant.

  وَنَزَّلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً مُبَرَكًا فَأَنْبَتْنَا بِهِ جَنَّتٍ وَحَبَّ الْحَصِيدِ

And We send down from the sky blessed water, We therewith produce gardens and seed for the crops-

                       وَالنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَاتٍ لَهَا طَلْعٌ نَضِيدٌ

-and tall palm trees, with hanging fruits.

       رِزْقًا لِلْعِبَادِ وَأَحْيَيْنَا بِهِ بَلْدَةً مَيْتًا كَذَلِكَ الْخُرُوجُ

A provision for His servants and We revive with it the dead town. Such is resurrection.

       كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَأَصْحَابُ الرَّسِّ وَثَمُودُ

Rejecting before them were the people of Noah, the dwellers of the Rass, and Thamoud,-

                           وَعَادٌ وَفِرْعَوْنُ وَإِخْوَانُ لُوطٍ

-and Aad, Pharaoh, and the brethren of Lot,-

 

4642 2660 617 66 14

 

   وَأَصْحَبُ الأيْكَةِ وَقَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ كُلٌّ كَذَّبَ الرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ وَعِيدِ

-and the dwellers of the Wood, and the people of Tubba. They all rejected the messengers. Consequently, the promise was truthfully fulfilled.

  أَفَعَيِينَا بِالْخَلْقِ الأوَّلِ بَلْ هُمْ فِي لَبْسٍ مِنْ خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ

Were We then too burdened by the first creation? Is this why they are doubtful about a new creation?

 وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الإنْسَنَ وَنَعْلَمُ مَا تُوَسْوِسُ بِهِ نَفْسُهُ وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ حَبْلِ الْوَرِيدِ

And indeed We created the human being, and We know what he whispers to himself, and we are closer to him than his jugular vein.

      إِذْ يَتَلَقَّى الْمُتَلَقِّيَانِ عَنِ الْيَمِينِ وَعَنِ الشِّمَالِ قَعِيدٌ

Two recorders are sitting to the right and to the left recording.

                مَا يَلْفِظُ مِنْ قَوْلٍ إِلا لَدَيْهِ رَقِيبٌ عَتِيدٌ

Every statement he makes is closely and watchfully recorded.

      وَجَاءَتْ سَكْرَةُ الْمَوْتِ بِالْحَقِّ ذَلِكَ مَا كُنْتَ مِنْهُ تَحِيدُ

And the coma of death rightfully comes.  This is what you were trying to escape.

                     وَنُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ ذَلِكَ يَوْمُ الْوَعِيدِ

And the horn will be blown. This is the promised Day.

                 وَجَاءَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَعَهَا سَائِقٌ وَشَهِيدٌ

And every soul comes with an usher and a witness.

 

4650 2668 625 74 22

 

    لَقَدْ كُنْتَ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مِنْ هَذَا فَكَشَفْنَا عَنْكَ غِطَاءَكَ فَبَصَرُكَ الْيَوْمَ حَدِيدٌ

You were heedless of this; We now have removed your veil, and your vision is as strong as iron.

                         وَقَالَ قَرِينُهُ هَذَا مَا لَدَيَّ عَتِيدٌ

And his companion says; here is my powerful testimony.

                        أَلْقِيَا فِي جَهَنَّمَ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ

Throw into Hell every disbeliever, stubborn.

                              مَنَّاعٍ لِلْخَيْرِ مُعْتَدٍ مُرِيبٍ

Forbidder of righteousness, transgressor, full of doubt.

        الَّذِي جَعَلَ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَهًا آخَرَ فَأَلْقِيَاهُ فِي الْعَذَابِ الشَّدِيدِ

He is the one who set up another god besides God2405.  Throw him into the ultimate punishment.
